On Tuesday evening, the latest round of this summer’s evening 10 mile cycling time trials was held by Rossendale Road Club at Hapton, and the entry list was boosted by Bury Clarion with 27 riders making the start line. On a dry night with a slight uphill wind, some excellent times were recorded, with a closely fought battle for top spot eventually going to Patrick Casey of the Amexo Race Group in 23:40.just 10 seconds in front of 2nd place Joe Cadwallader of Bury Clarion. Nearly a minute further back, Bury Clarion also took the final podium place through Glynn Kneale in 24:27.

Paul Warrener was best valley club member with a time of 27:59, with Richie Watts posting 29:24 on a standard road bike.

This Tuesday (12th July) is the annual Whalley – Settle event starting from Clitheroe by-pass. Start time is 7pm with all welcome, and the action returns to Hapton the following week. The strava segment can be found here: https://www.strava.com/segments/4598574
