The Saturday Salida

The Old Library, Waterfoot. 9:00am meet, departures from 9:30am

Salida is Spanish for ‘depart’, and the Saturday Salida is RRC’s ‘Grand Depart’ each Saturday morning. Meet up for a coffee or bite to eat before heading out for your ride. Whether you are planning solo structured training or looking for a casual group ride, it is our opportunity to all get together over a brew, with the hope that this develops in to a bigger meet with lots of ride options. Head down even if you are not riding for the social!

If you are planning a ride and want some company, share it on our Facebook group or our Whatsapp chat ahead of time. New members welcome, just turn up on the morning.

We have not selected a long term venue yet (keep an eye on this page). In the meantime we will update this page as we try different venues.

Note: Saturday Salida rides of B/C type are always NO DROP. This means that the ride is always at the pace of the slowest rider in that group. Communicate ahead of time to ensure everyone is happy with the pace.

When planning a ride, please communicate what sort of ride it is.

A Group – Ride lengths will be 45-60 miles with the pace averaging over 18 mph. Moderate to difficult terrain. Focus on performance, pace lining, climbing and endurance. Group riding experience, general mechanical skills expected. These rides are rare but if organised will be communicated ahead of time.

B Group – Ride lengths will be 35-100 miles with the pace averaging above 15 mph. Moderate to difficult terrain. Group riding experience, general mechanical skills expected. Usually strong riders with a steady pace and will include a food/coffee stop.

C Group – Ride lengths will be 25-40 miles of a slower pace. Mixture of flat/rolling hills with some moderate climbing. Will likely include a food/coffee stop. All riders welcome regardless of experience. Reach out if you have any questions ahead of time.
