About Rossendale Rocky Riders
ROSSENDALE ROCKY RIDERS is a section of the Road Club.
We currently meet in Waterfoot by the old Royal Hotel we aim to leave the car park for 9am please follow us on Facebook for regular updates www.facebook.com/Rossendalerockyriders/
We are looking to recruit new members from the age of 10 upwards, from anywhere in the North West (we have members from as far afield as Buxton and Huddersfield) the only requirement is that they can ride a bike. We have the use of bikes and helmets courtesy of Fearns Community Sports College, please contact Adrian Watts 07818054529 if you are interested.
At present there are 3 leaders all at various stages of training on the British Cycling MTB Leaders and 1 of whom is also a BC Level 2 MTB Coach, we are on the lookout for other adults interested in joining us (there are grants available for training courses.)
The Saturday morning sessions with a group of boys and girls, this has settled down to a core group of 4 riders, the first few sessions concentrate on learning basic skills on the pump track (very popular) and on the red route, we have since ventured further afield. These have included sections of the Mary Townley Loop, Cragg Quarry & and various bits of the local bridleway network.
We have also been to Gisburn Forest for a change of scenery.
